Freelance graphic designer & illustrator since 2012

Powered by nature, rooted in Chinese culture.

Xue was trained as a graphic designer when she was a high school student in Toronto, Canada. Since she got her Bachelor of Design from the York University and Sheridan College Joint Program, she has embarked onto a professional road, specializing in the field of illustration, branding and western calligraphy.

She thinks that design is not only a profession but also a way of thinking that shapes her reality. To design is to liberate her soul and to motivate her to dive into the wild world in search of the never-ending visual and aural stimulation. Art and design, together accompanied with travelling as the by-product, have helped her interpret the world with different sets of acquired aesthetics. The magnificence of nature and the abundance of various cultures have inspired her to practice design as a way of celebration of life experience.

Currently working as a freelancer, she uses the freedom to experiment with different lifestyles by living among cities of Japan and China while having Toronto as the first base of operation.

My top three must-have conditions to bring out the most creative form of me.

  • unmatched pajama (with paint stain, dog hair, last night dinner, coffee residue)
  • messy hairstyle (sometimes hairband hippie, sometimes bun with chopstick-geisha style)
  • background noise (Chinese/Japanese dramas on ancient stories; Talk shows on neurology or polyamory; Radio on things I don’t care much; ASMR if the deadlines are too deadly)

Bread keeps me alive and Mountains make me cry.

  • Top Three: Sourdough; Bagel; Bageutte (refer to my business logo on the top left corner)
  • My recycled soul was once a small moutain. Unknown to others but exist for long.
  • My passion is similar to volcano eruption. Curiosity is my fuel and my life force.

Most likely this is how I label myself, if needed.*

  • All-time Free Spirit
  • All-time Free Range Human
  • Sometimes Socially Awkward
